Earth’s spirit does not discriminate. It resonates in all matter. Although the tuned human being is conscious of others’ spirit, we’re often deaf to the subtle messages that fellow products of creation send. Indications are that plants, animals, rocks and even open space – having witnessed bold events through the millennia - convey frequencies or messages. If we would only learn to listen to the ancient, this communication could provide desperate answers.

This tour provides a journey to and self searching of the essence and soul of plants, man and nature through rich interaction with some of the most prolific biomes and landscapes, and interpretation by masters in their field.

Set amongst the majestic backdrop of African Savannah (‘North’ tour), the Tour program is as follows:

Escarpment, Savannah & Safari: Greater Kruger National Park and the White Lions

August 28: Arrive Johannesburg. Own arrangements

Guests arrive in Johannesburg. Accommodation, Airport transfer and/ or Day tours are Optional Extra. We recommend that you book these through the Choice Tours office, as it will streamline departure arrangements for tomorrow

Day 1, August 29: Johannesburg – Greater Kruger National Park

The rich journey leaves Johannesburg and travels through South Africa’s 2nd most diverse biome, Highveld Grassland and over the undulating and at places dramatic Northern Drakensberg Escarpment, to the area of Hoedspruit, central Gateway to the Kruger National Park. Along the way, a stop is made at the foot of the Drakensberg, for ‘Bouquet of Botanical beauty’ magnificent Botanical walk, showing the fantastic Plant & Tree diversity of this habitat.

Overnight at Otters Den ,or similar.

Day 2, August 30: On Safari

Depart early and travel deeper into the African wilderness, to your Private Game Lodge. On both Day and Night safari, the Game Guides offer their expertise of Bush, to provide chance upon chance of close up encounters with not only the Big 5 of Africa, but also the sounds, smells, spoor (footprints) of the huge variety of Plants and Animals in this vast, dynamic expanse of Wilderness.

Day 3, August 31: Timbavati; the White Lion Heartland

On both safari 4x4 and on foot, the opportunities for life changing encounters with the wild are endless; from the Land Rover, the big game can be approached to as close as touching distance, while on foot, you experience the bush close up, by touching, smelling, participating.

After breakfast and your Safari activity at Pungwe, depart to the Timbavati, rich heartland of the White Lions, legendary beast surrounded by myth and oral tradition’ (see Appendix 1: ‘Expedition to the White Lion Heartland’). Our hosts here, the Global White Lion Protection Trust (founded by Linda Tucker, author of ‘The White Lions of the Timbavati, Children of the Sun God’), provides a deep, soul searching programme, where guests share nature with these regal beasts, while experiencing in depth learning of the White Lion and its quest for existence and survival.

Day 4, September 1: Share their natural and spiritual homelands of the White Lions

Today’s programme includes Lion Monitoring excursions, presentations by our specialist hosts and a Traditional Dinner. Time permitting, optional extra excursions can be booked to go to the Cheetah breeding project or a Wildlife Rehabilitation centre in the area.

Day 5, September 2: White Lion Expedition

Continue this mythical expedition. Again monitoring excursions and, for those interested, a ‘Silent Walk with expert Shangaan tracker, reading sacred Energy leylines and Nature’s signs. In the evening, an expedition to the family of Maria Khosa, Lion Queen of the Timbavati, with traditional Medicine Women, drumming and traditional dinner and dancing around the fire.

Day 6, September 3: God’s Window and Blyde River Canyon

After an early start, the tour Route snakes through the Panorama Route, a spectacular Escarpment landscape through the Abel Erasmus and Long Tom passes, with visits to Blyde River Canyon second in size only to the Grand Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and God’s Window, with its awe inspiring vistas, Rain Forest and rich highland plant varieties.

After lunch at the Pancake place, the route continues to traverse the escarpment onto the Highveld, destination Johannesburg.

Overnight Afrika Lodge or similar.

Day 7, September 4: Own arrangements/ Optional extra activities/ tours

Own arrangements. An Airport transfer is included in your tour price.

Optional extra Day/ ½ day tours are available, e.g. Cradle of Humankind; Gardens/ Botanical Gardens; Apartheid museum; Lion Park; Soweto Township tour; Special interest excursions.
